After making its debut on Super Famicom, F-Zero returned in 1998 with a new chapter on Nintendo 64.
The episode in 3D polygons introduced 30 vehicles on the track, the old 4 from the previous chapter and 26 brand new.
Besides the classic GP Race which includes the new “X Cup” (where the tracks are generated randomly each time), the new feature was the Death Race where the player has to destroy all other 29 opponents as much as possible.
F-Zero X was highly praised for its sense of speed, it runs at 60 fps, but on the other side, the graphics was a little sacrificed to keep the frame rate constant.
