Probably the most iconic shoot’em up in the last 20 years, Ikaruga was ported to Dreamcast almost a year after its arcade debut.
Developed by talented team Treasure, it’s the sequel of another famous shooting game, Radiant Silvergun which was released in 1998 on arcade and Saturn.
Featuring a unique gameplay (but a similar concept was used in Silhouette Mirage on Saturn and PS1), the ship has two polarity, black and white, and same is for the enemies : shooting same colour enemies let the ship to absorb bullets while shooting to the opposite colour makes a double damage; moreover shooting 3 enemies of same colour start a chain bonus which can be multiplied if chains are not interrupted and it’s essential if you aim to break the high score.
Ikaruga supports VGA output.
